9/22: AP Lang

Students will demonstrate mastery of style analysis by responding to a Gatsby prompt.

Agenda:
- No Chromebooks -- take out notebook paper -- put away devices
- Pick one of the two provided passages (Ch. 7 or 8 -- NOT BOTH).
- Write one paragraph in response to the prompt:

  1. T (make sure you answer the question, hint: use the bold prompt to guide you)
  2. E (embed a quote that supports ^)
  3. X (identify deeper meanings/connotations of quote)
  4. X (how does the quote prove your claim?  Connect back!)
  5. E (embed another quote that supports your first T sentence)
  6. X (identify deeper meanings/connotations of quote)
  7. X (how does the quote prove your claim?  Connect back!)
  8. T (finish off with a concluding sentence that reiterates the main point)
*** When finished, turn in your prompt and staple the rubric to the back of your paragraph.  Turn in all documents to the trays in the front of the classroom.
