Students will discuss the strengths and limitations of satire by sharing and defending their opinions.
Agenda:
- Turn-in Sacco Cartoon HW (if needed)
- As a table, ensure #1-4 on Seminar Prep sheet are filled out accurately
- Then, each table will share notes with the class (main ideas & important highlights)
- Discuss:
- What is the role of the satirist?
- How far is too far?
- Which topics are off-limits?
- When is satire effective and useful?
- Should individuals tailor their behavior based on what's considered offensive?
- What can Cougar TV, The Prowler & Tracks publish?
HW:
- Prep for tomorrow's forum; be an expert on all sources!
