Students will read and react to "A Chauvinist Pig in a Poke" by doing a close reading.

Agenda:
In pairs, read the article and follow the directions on the satire analysis sheet.
The article (with its annotations) and the satire analysis sheet are both due at the end of class.

If you finish early, grab a Bluetooth keyboard and:

Work on the homework

OR

Begin compiling evidence for both sides of Face-off-Friday:

What are the limits of satire?  Are there subjects that should be off limits?  Can the humorist get away with messages that are inflammatory?

HW:
Finish the Letter to the Editor and share with your partner to peer edit. Give your partner permission to "can comment" ONLY. They should not be editing your paper for you.
